Class on Hold

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. With the holidays quickly approaching, it seems that we have a lot of scheduling conflicts for our group. So, unfortunately, we will be canceling class for the rest of December. As most of you know, I am pregnant, and the baby just keeps getting bigger:) I was planning on getting a sub for part of January and all of February, but have been unable to find one. After some discussion with the owner of the studio, we feel that it will be best to put our class on hold until at least March. I was up most of the night last night trying to figure out another way of working this out, but I feel like this is the best option we've been able to come up with. If any of you have any other suggestions, please let me know. My students have been making a ton of progress and it has been so much fun to work with them. I hope you will continue to practice on your own. If you have any questions or can't remember which steps we've worked on, please feel free to email or call me.

DANCING WITH THE STARS!

What a way to start off our Anniversary week!

We had the pleasure of hosting DWTS in the studio Friday & Saturday. Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas were in the house working on their routines for tonights show. It was truly amazing to watch the process. The surprise was having her whole family pop in to watch the rehearsal. I put a couple of pictures on Facebook, but check out the show tonight and see if they show some studio clips. It was fun.

None of this would have been possible if it were not for the unselfish help from all of the instructors here. I really appreciate how well you moved 50 lessons and 2 group classes around without a fuss, and did it all on no notice. You guys and gals are really the "dancing stars."

I'm guessing by now you have figured out we were not spraying for termites Friday...

Well, have a dance filled week and I hope to see you all at the 3rd Anniversary Party this Friday Night.

Class Cancelled this Saturday, November 6th

I got a call last night that the studio will be undergoing some spraying for bugs and termites this Saturday, so our class is being cancelled. I'm very sorry to tell you without much notice, but I'd rather have you be safe and away from fumes. :) So, no class Saturday, November 6th.

We will have class November 13th. I am going to bring a copy of our video and some treats for the last 15 minutes or so of class. You gals did a GREAT job on Saturday!! I got a TON of positive comments. I know some of you were scared and worried, but you did a great job!!! Everyone at the studio loved it. Some people even asked me where you all went after the show because they wanted to tell you what a fun dance it was! Way to go! I am very proud of you! I'll be posting it on the blog as soon as I can figure out how to do that. :)

As far as the rest of November goes, we will not have class on November 20th or 27th due to the Thanksgiving/Fall break. We will start up back in December on December 4th.

Money for November will just be the $15 for the November 13th class.

Halloween Show was AMAZING!

Majestic Ballroom Youth did a GREAT job on October 30th with their dance performance at Ambiant Studios! I got a TON of positive feedback. The crowd loved it! I hope you weren't too nervous to hear the cheering. :) I am very proud of you all!

Getting ready to perform for Halloween!

Majestic Ballroom will be performing at the Halloween Party at Ambiant Dance on October 30th. They will have a potluck at 7, rumba lesson at 8, and open dancing with a few performances from 9-11. The cost is $10. It should be a TON of fun! Wear your costumes! Prizes will be given out for food and costumes, so get creative!

Classes going strong!

We have been having our Saturday classes for about 2 months now. They are going really well. We could definitely use some more men! Please feel free to come any week. Try it out for a week and see if you like it. We've been doing Foxtrot and Cha Cha. I've got some pretty consistent girls coming, so guys, you'll love the odds:)

Classes Start THIS SATURDAY!

Hi Everyone! Just a reminder that Majestic Ballroom Youth starts THIS SATURDAY! I hope to see you all at 10:00 am at Ambiant Dance Studio in Scottsdale.

We need a FEW GOOD MEN! So, the first two men ages 12-18 to respond to this blog, email, or facebook will get TWO WEEKS of free classes. Ballroom is one of those things that we need guys for, so please come! Let me know if you have any questions!

Classes Start on September 11th!

I am SOOOO excited to announce that we have found a new home for Majestic Ballroom at Ambiant Dance in Scottsdale, Arizona. We will have a lot more room, a great floor and sound system, and at least three shows to perform in a year! I can't wait to get started!

Our first class will be on September 11th. Classes are held on Saturdays from 10:00 am to noon. September fees will be $45 for the month (3 weeks in September) due the first Saturday we meet. This breaks down to be $15 per week or $7.50 an hour. What a steal! Classes will be $60 per month after that.

Classes starting up again soon!

Hi friends and students! We will be starting up our ballroom classes again soon. I've been checking out some larger locations and trying to find us a new home. I've got a pretty good lead right now, but I'm still researching. It looks like we'll be able to start up class again in September. I hope you had a GREAT summer! Shout out to Deer Valley Dancers!

Way to go Deer Valley Dancers. I went to the concert two weeks ago and to the one tonight! Very impressed! I especially liked the Olympics number tonight. Go green team:) I also thought the hip hop stuff was awesome. I didn't get a program either night or I would list off my other favorites. Anyway, I picked out a few of you that had come to ballroom class and thought you did a great job!

1/2 Price Class tomorrow if you bring a guy with you!

We are short on men, so if you bring one with you to class tomorrow, you AND the man get in for half price each. That is only $5 for two hours. That is AMAZING! I hope to see you there. A few people told me they were going to come for the first time tomorrow and I am REALLY excited!

No Class until April 10th.

So, I just realized that next week is Easter. It's amazing what you can find out when you turn the page in your planner:) This means that we will not be having Youth Social Ballroom on April 3rd, but we WILL have class on April 10th and I am really hoping we have some more men. I brought donuts this week. What will it take to get the men to class? Let me know what I can bribe you with:)

Class Tomorrow!

Hi Everybody. Remember that we have Youth Social Ballroom Saturday at 9 AM! I am bringing donuts to try to get more guys there. Guys we need you!!! The class is 2 hours long for $10. I hope to see you all there!

Class Number Two

Today we had our second class for Youth Social Ballroom. It was fun! We continued on with our Foxtrot and Cha Cha. We were a little low on numbers due to spring break and family projects, but next week we're hoping to have everyone back:) Don't forget to bring your friends. I'll be bringing donuts for our break. You don't want to miss it! See you then!

Yesterday we had our first Social Ballroom Youth Class. It was so much fun! We did Foxtrot and Cha Cha. Remember 2 3 Cha Cha Cha. I look forward to seeing you all next Saturday. We are hoping to get a few more gentlemen to turn up and had the suggestion of bringing cookies. So, for next week, I will be bringing some cookies for our break snack.

Social Youth Ballroom Class Starts Tomorrow!

All right everybody, tomorrow is the big day! Saturday at 9:00 am we will begin our Social Youth Ballroom Class. I am really excited to see how many people sign up. The class will be about 2 hours long and will only be $10 for the special introductory rate. We will be doing Foxtrot and Cha Cha tomorrow. I'll see you all bright and early. :)

Here are some instructions on how to get there. I live in Glendale by the 101 and 59th Ave. I go East on the 101 until you get to the 17. Take 17 South to the Indian School Road Exit. Take the exit then turn Left (going East) on Indian School Road. You will pass 7th Street and see a car wash on your left. There is a little sign for 8th Street followed by a little parking lot/shopping center. Turn left into the parking lot and go straight to the back where you can turn/look left and see the studio. It is kind of hidden from Indian School Road.

If you miss the turn to get into the parking lot, turn left on 9th street and then turn left into the parking lot and go straight all the way back. The studio will be on your right. Let me know if you have any questions. See you tomorrow!

Cha Cha week two at Deer Valley

Last week at Deer Valley High School we did the Cha Cha. Everyone did a great job learning the basic. We'll review that today and teach you a few new moves. Hope to see you all there!!!

Don't forget that Majestic Ballroom Youth Classes start NEXT SATURDAY at 9:00 am. I'm really excited and hoping for a great turnout!

It looks like Triple Swing won the vote!

The votes have been tallied and it looks like we are doing Triple Swing today at Deer Valley High School. I will be heading over soon:) I hope everyone is getting excited for Valentine's Day!

Deer Valley Success

We had a great turn out at Deer Valley High School. We could always use a few more guys, but isn't that always true:) They invited me back next week. Yay! So we will be doing either Cha Cha, Triple Swing, Waltz, or more Fox Trot. We'll see what response I get.

Deer Valley High School

This week I will be doing a club class at Deer Valley High School. I went to their winter concert back in December and was impressed by how many students they have in their dance program. I can't wait to meet them and introduce them to Ballroom Dancing.
